Can our college get a .ac.ke domain?

Yes, if it is a registered tertiary institution. KENIC, which runs .ke domains, asks for a copy of the certificate of registration from the relevant ministry, the college charter, or the Act of Parliament that established it, showing the college's name and that it is a polytechnic, technical institute, college or university. The name goes live once KENIC has checked the document, and we send it for you. A .ac.ke domain is free with the package.

What exactly does KES 3,000 a year include?

A free .co.ke, .or.ke, .sc.ke or .ac.ke domain, unlimited email accounts on it, 20 GB of storage shared by the mailboxes and a website, free SSL, setup of your mailboxes by our team, and 24/7 support. Prices exclude 16% VAT, so the yearly invoice is KES 3,480.

Can every lecturer have an address?

Yes. There is no per-user fee. Every mailbox and the website share 20 GB of storage, which comfortably holds a few dozen staff who keep their inboxes tidy. Use the estimator on this page for your own headcount.

Can we give students email addresses?

The package is sized for staff and offices. Thousands of student mailboxes need far more storage than 20 GB, so talk to us if you want them and we will size a plan. Many colleges start with staff, then add class representative or student council addresses.

How should we handle applications in an intake?

Point every advert, poster and the website to admissions@, and let two or three officers share that inbox. Replies go out from the same address, so applicants see one consistent college, and anyone covering the desk can see the full history.

We already use a Gmail address. What happens to it?

Keep it running while you move over. Put the new address on letterheads, admission letters and the website, update logins for placement, exam and accreditation portals, and set an auto-reply on the old address pointing people to the new one. Our support team can help with each step.

Can we host the college website on the same package?

Yes. The package is a full hosting account with free SSL, so a website listing courses, entry requirements, fees and intake dates can run on the same domain. If you want us to build it, ask about our website design service.

Who owns the domain and mailboxes?

The college. The domain is registered in the institution's name and the college decides who holds the admin login. If you ever change provider, the domain and your addresses go with you.
