How ready is your church to run its office by email?

Tick what is already in place. Items marked "In the package" are handled by the package itself.

Should our church use .or.ke or .co.ke?

.or.ke is the extension for non-profit organisations, and it tells members and partners at a glance that you are a church or ministry rather than a business. KENIC may ask for proof of registration, such as your certificate from the Registrar of Societies, and we send it for you. A .or.ke domain is free with the package. Some churches also register the .co.ke version so nobody else can take it.

What exactly does KES 3,000 a year include?

A free .co.ke, .or.ke, .sc.ke or .ac.ke domain, unlimited email accounts on it, 20 GB of storage shared by the mailboxes and a website, free SSL, setup of your mailboxes by our team, and 24/7 support. Prices exclude 16% VAT, so the yearly invoice is KES 3,480.

How do official addresses help against giving fraud?

Fraudsters often impersonate pastors on WhatsApp or by text to ask for money on personal numbers. If every genuine appeal and receipt comes from your church domain and names the one official paybill, members have a simple rule: anything else is not from the church. Announce that rule from the pulpit too.

Can every ministry leader have an address?

Yes, and every elder and staff member too. There is no per-user fee. All mailboxes and the website share 20 GB of storage, which is plenty for most churches. Use the estimator on this page to check your numbers.

What happens when a ministry leader changes?

The address stays and the password changes. youth@ belongs to the youth ministry, not to whoever leads it, so the new leader inherits every past message and contact. The church secretary or whoever holds the admin login can reset passwords at handover.

We already use a Gmail address. What happens to it?

Keep it running while you move over. Print the new addresses in the bulletin and on the website, update bank, livestream and social media logins, and set an auto-reply on the old account pointing people to the new one. Our support team can help you through it.

Can we host the church website and sermons here?

Yes. The package is a full hosting account with free SSL for a website with service times, events, giving details and directions. Video sermons are best kept on YouTube or Facebook and embedded on the site, which keeps your 20 GB free for email.

Who owns the domain and mailboxes?

The church. The domain is registered in the church's name and the council decides who holds the admin login. If you ever change provider, the domain and your addresses move with you.
